Structured Literacy for ALL
Academic Language Therapy instruction is explicit, structured, prescriptive, diagnostic, systematic, and cumulative. Sounds in Syllables lessons contain the five components of effective reading instruction identified by research from the National Reading Panel. Sounds in Syllables is a comprehensive intensive intervention for students with Dyslexia and other reading disabilities. This is done virtually 1:1 with Ms. Rebecca New, M.A., Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT).

Yes! I am a Direct Pay Provider so there will be no out-of-pocket costs for FES-UA students or Arizona ESA students. I also accept other methods of payment such as Zelle, Venmo and PayPal.
I work with students as young as age 6 up to adulthood. Everyone should be able to access literacy as it is a human right.
The minimum requirement is three times weekly 1 hour per session. Severely impacted students may need up to 5x weekly for adequate progress.
Rebecca New is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (Dyslexia Therapist) CALT which required a 700-hour supervised practicum, 20 observations and 200 hours of Orton GIllingham Training. Her ALTA Membership number is: 60606845.
She works with students with learning disabilities (Dyslexia and other languages based reading disabilities), intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder for over 7 years as a Certified Florida Teacher. She has a Bachelors of Science in Exceptional Student Education and a Masters of Arts in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Currently, she is obtaining her Education Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction in Special Education.
Her Florida Teacher Certification number is 1341238. Her Arizona teacher license is 7262566. She is certified to teach in both states: Mild/Moderate Special Education, Moderate/Severe Special Education (Autism Endorsed in FL); Elementary Education K-6; Birth-3th Grade; Hearing Impaired; along with the Reading K-12 Endorsement & English as a Second Language Endorsement K-12.
